Bay Sensors

Individual bay identification provides a bay-level granular segmentation of a car park.

Park Agility’s core sensor/indicator lights for indoor PGS applications use Infrared, LiDAR and Camera sensors with image processing technologies, and each has its advantages.

Rather than a reliance on reflection of sound or light, Infrared technology relies upon a two component, beam break solution. It is relatively cost effective and highly accurate for individual car park bay usage and is not impacted by lighting conditions, vehicle colour, make or any other characteristic of a vehicle.

A huge advantage in the design of this solution with its two components is that it is impossible for a sensor to be showing green when in fact the parking bay is occupied. Bottom line: it is not possible to record a false positive.

Whilst infrared is an excellent solution, some customers do not want ground-based transmitter devices. Infrared also has a range limitation making it non-suitable for high ceiling loading dock usage.

To offer solutions for all parking environments, Park Agility has also developed sensor/indicator light solutions using Ultrasonic, LiDAR and Camera technologies. Each of these technologies has advantages and disadvantages and suit different environments and applications.

When combined with our consulting and implementation methodologies, the various sensor technologies that we can deploy enable delivery of tailored solutions that are highly reliable and effective at detecting the occupation status of individual car parking bays.

Bay sensors are a great option for multi-storey indoor parking assets such as retail, club and airport car parks.

Multi-colour individual bay LEDs alert customers to immediate availability. Different coloured lights announce the bay type, for example reserved, disabled, parents with prams, EVs and so on.

Car park category groups are growing; think Casual, Electric Vehicle (EV), Disability (DDA), Seniors, Parents with Prams, Permanent, Contractors, Click & Collect, Staff, Pick-Up/Drop-off and so on.

Parking technologies must be able to personalize each individual’s experience down to the bay category via the bay indicator light and, importantly, help the customer to find that bay using directional LED Wayfinding signage. The individual bay indicator is the last layer of communication between any parking system and the carpark user. Many PGS companies make the compromise of having one light shared between four, six or even eight bays. This approach is fast becoming obsolete in today’s world of diverse parking bay utilisation.

Individual bay identification is now paramount in any PGS. Park Agility’s individual ‘one indicator light per bay’ approach addresses this fact. We offer a number of single space technologies including our camera sensor solution that offers a dedicated indicator per space whilst also providing the detection capabilities of a camera sensor. This approach provides a bay level granular segmentation of the car park.

Our bay sensors are highly visible, reliable and accurate and are backed up by our clear LED Wayfinding signage
